Nations & Tribes

Carved by hand from ethically sourced Indonesian teakwood, “Nations & Tribes” a sculptural masterpiece celebrating Africa’s enduring legacy and the divine wisdom found in diversity. Each curve and carved line is inspired by the Qur’anic verse: وَجَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ شُعُوبٗا وَقَبَآئِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوٓاْۚ “We made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another.” (49:13) Through traditional craftsmanship, the African continent emerges both as a geographical reality and a spiritual metaphor. This artwork invites contemplation of how difference becomes beauty, and how boundaries become pathways of mutual understanding. The flowing calligraphy and organic forms create harmony between sacred text and sacred land, making each sculpture a powerful centrepiece for any home, gallery, or sacred space.
