The Dervish

‘The Dervish’ depicts a whirling dervish, drawn not with ink but with thread and nails. Thousands of intersecting lines gather into light and shadow, echoing the celestial balance: one hand to the heavens, one to the earth, the heart turning in remembrance. Made from a single black thread measuring 1,397 feet wrapped around 5,371 individual aluminium nails, the piece captures movement within stillness, geometry made tender, inviting a quiet pause and a breath of dhikr in any space
